This past weekends weather was very wet & damp. However, it was not enough to stop our second annual themed holiday party form happening.
From our "Ugly Christmas Sweater Party" last year, I knew I had to step it up with a funnier theme. Our chosen theme for this year sprung from our love of Mexican food... tacos to be exact! You know you can put anything in a tortilla & call it a "taco" these days.... like take adobo for instance. Place it in a tortilla & you have a Filipino inspired taco. I'm sure it would be delicious. Any of you foodies out there... do NOT, I repeat, do not steal my adobo taco idea ; P
Anyways, here are a few highlights from our Doan Meximas Fiesta. Funny thing.... no one was Mexican at our party, but we did have Spanish Christmas mariachi music, Mexican hot chocolate, sombreros, AND Mexican villainous moustaches!!
O'le!
Ness+Shah, Las Vegas
11/19/10
My cousin Vanessa has been breathing down my neck for her pictures of her & her bf Shah, for like a couple of weeks now. Well, to my maid-of-honor, I give you your beautiful & exquisite pictures. I hope you enjoy them as much I have enjoyed viewing them & preparing them for you.
We had such a great time shooting all around the Vegas strip & by the local park. I was even treated to a SUPREME all-you-can-eat sushi dinner that the couple LOVES to grub on as much as they can. They sure do know a way to my heart with feeding me some OIY-KAN-NEE (all-you-can-eat), as my Aunt one time so thought that me & my cousins were going to a restaurant called oiy-kan-nee, gosh it was so funny.
Thank you Ness & Shah for a wonderful session. We will have to do it again real soon!
Go REDSKINS!! Ness & Shah love them some football & the Redskins.
I LOVE shoes & so do they... Nike core!
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this one. I think it should be an ad for Cartier or some other dramatic high end brand. Such passion, makes me smile & go "Awwwwww.... so cute!"
We shot these at the new City Center, Crystals retail & entertainment center. It was such a great backdrop for the couple who do love fashion & all things fancy. "Oh you fancy huh....!"

Pretty Pretty Princess
11/18/10
In case you were wondering what my other dog Sookie was for Halloween this year, here are a few pics of her sitting pretty as a little doll / little rascal that she is. My mom was so kind enough to sew her custom ballerina tutu for her. She wasn't a huge fan of the darn costume, but she was cool for a few minutes to let me take a few snapshots of her.

Ness+Shah Teaser, Las Vegas
11/10/10
I was in Vegas last week on a tag-a-long business trip with my husband, which was UBER fun by the way, even though I spent the daytime by myself working. My cousin, Ness & her bf, Shah, were kind enough to allow me to shoot them after they got off of work, for my photography portfolio. I guess I have to state that, they are not really engaged..... but @Shah no pressure , dude!!!
Here are some fun teaser shots we took at a local park by there house. They had so much fun throwing the football around, running around, wrestling a little, & being silly. Ness & Shah are huge Redskins fans, so I thought it was oh so appropriate for them to wear matching Redskins tees. I LOVE you two so much. Definitely more to come...... Check back soon.
Getting Inspired
10/22/10
I have to say that getting inspired is difficult at times. Being able to create unique & awesome graphics takes time & research of the current market & trends. When I am in slump of non-creativeness I always turn to these fantastic inspiring blogs to get my design juices flowing.
For packaging or graphic design inspiration, I always turn to the dieline for unique, innovative, or just plain cool packaging & graphic applications. They showcase student artwork, corporate artwork, & art pieces that have won awards for their brilliant design.
Design Sponge is a great source for getting crafty, having an urge to redecorate, or just browsing around & seeing what other people have done to their spaces. I LOVE checking into this blog daily for decorating ideas for my own home. I really like how followers upload their own DIY projects and share before & after pictures of their almost always successful more modern project.
I find it so inspiring to see others "before" & "after" DIY projects, like the old granny chairs above to be transformed into modern & chic matching lounge chairs. Sooooo brilliant to take something old & make it new & now.
For my beauty & fashion fix, I check out Chic Profile for the latest trends in the fashion & beauty world. This blog is so up to date with the latest trends & newest cosmetic finds, limited editions, & early previews to what we can expect to see at our local department stores.
Here are some of the newest beauty trends to hit the market this Holiday 2010.

10/21/10
I bought Cody his very first Halloween costume that ACTUALLY fit him perfectly. I mean he's such a huge black lab & can hardly fit into any crazy doggie clothes I try to squeeze him in. Boy did he enjoy wearing this funny get up. Since Brent & I gave him so much attention while wearing it, he bucked like a bronco & ran around the backyard as if he were in an actual corral. Made my day. Sookie, our other little mixed terrier, you are next to play dress-up for Halloween!
